Highlights
Our mortality data is comparable to early reports with the wild-type SARS-CoV-2.
Clinical and laboratory monitoring is critical on the 2nd to 3rd week of illness.
Common and inexpensive laboratory tests may aid in the monitoring of patients.
Clinical pathway can be adapted to local data, especially in resource-poor setting.
