Vitamin C for COVID-19
6th treatment shown to reduce risk in September 2020, now with p = 0.00000002 from 73 studies, recognized in 12 countries.
Lower risk for mortality, ICU, hospitalization, and recovery.
No treatment is 100% effective. Protocols combine treatments.
5,100+ studies for 112 treatments. c19early.org
Reanalysis of the REMAP-CAP and LOVIT-COVID vitamin C RCTs1 showing that the poor results may be explained by a rebound effect due to the abrupt termination of vitamin C treatment after 4 days.
Authors describe a rebound effect where a sudden stop in high-dose vitamin C administration can lead to a rapid drop in vitamin C levels, potentially below the levels before treatment began, and this may have adverse health effects. The authors cite previous research on sepsis patients where a similar pattern of increased mortality was observed after the cessation of vitamin C treatment.
Reviews covering vitamin C for COVID-19 include2-16.
