Study settings The TempTracker smartphone app was used in two sub-studies nested within the ORIGINS Project, a large longitudinal, prospective birth cohort study based at Joondalup Health Campus, Western Australia. 37, 38 AERIAL (Airway Epithelium Respiratory Illnesses and ALlergy Study) recruited mother/newborn dyads between September 2020 and April 2023, to determine the influence of early-life viral infections on asthma/atopy development. 5 COCOON (COVID COmmunity compassiON Study) recruited complete family units between August 2020 and October 2021, to elucidate patterns of household transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recruitment commenced in August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and the cohorts were required..
